Last Weekend Before Thanksgiving

🍂 Thanksgiving Week Reflections

This is the last week before Thanksgiving, and there’s so much to prepare. For me, that means deep cleaning — cupboards, refrigerator, and maybe even getting the tree up and decorated a little earlier than usual. I often wait until Thanksgiving night or the day after, but this year I may try to have it ready for the holiday itself. We’ll see what time allows.

Alongside the food and cleaning, I’ve been working on content for the platforms and finishing a painting that’s nearly complete — just a few brush strokes left. It will be shared on the site, but it’s a keeper, not a seller. In my spare time (what little there is!), I’ve also started making an afghan blanket for myself. Over the years, I’ve collected yarn gifted to me for holidays, always imagining projects I might do. Now it’s piled up into something colorful and big — a blanket to cozy up with this winter, stitched with love and memories. Every time I use it, I’ll be reminded of those who gave me the yarn and the care behind it.

I hope to create more graphics and maybe another Thanksgiving video, but that depends on how much time the cleaning takes. If it doesn’t happen, that’s okay too. Sometimes we forget that there is such a thing as enough. Maybe it’s time to simply be thankful for what has already been done, without worrying about what could have been.

Because in the end, the most important part of Thanksgiving isn’t the projects or crafts — it’s the people around our table, in our lives, and in our hearts. That’s where our gratitude belongs, not just in words but in the spirit of true thanks.

✨ Have a blessed Thanksgiving, and may you enjoy the loved ones in your life.
