This rich and frothy pumpkin spice latte brings autumn straight to your mug. With real pumpkin, warm spices, and creamy milk foam, it's the ultimate seasonal comfort drink.
2 cups milk (whole milk for richness, or any milk of choice)
2 tablespoons pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie filling)
2 tablespoons maple syrup (or brown sugar for deeper flavor)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or 2 shots of espresso
Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
Extra cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice (for garnish)
Warm the base In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, pumpkin purée, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and vanilla. Heat until steaming but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
Froth it up Use a milk frother, immersion blender, or whisk vigorously to create a thick foam. The goal is a velvety texture with a nice layer of froth.
Add the coffee Pour the brewed coffee or espresso into two mugs. Divide the pumpkin milk mixture evenly between them, holding back the foam with a spoon.
Top and serve Spoon the foam on top, add whipped cream if desired, and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso or add an extra shot.
Want it iced? Chill the pumpkin milk mixture and pour over ice with cold brew.
Make it dairy-free with oat milk or almond milk — oat milk froths beautifully!
This simplified version of the classic PSL skips the pumpkin purée but keeps all the warm, comforting flavors you crave. Perfect for busy mornings or when you want a quick seasonal treat.

No pumpkin purée? No problem. Pumpkin pie spice carries the flavor beautifully — it’s a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves that mimics the taste of pumpkin desserts without the fuss.
